March 15^th 2012

A new record has been established on March 10th by the team during a qualification round at the GatorNationals in Gainesville, FL.  New record time: 5.282 seconds, speed: 270.54 mph.

February 27^th 2012

The 2012 season has begun!!!

It was a good start for Mercier Racing that qualified 2nd at their first outing of the season in Gainesville FL. Their qualifiying time was 5. 360 seconds. Watch out for the team as they are to race again at the Gatornationals next month ( March 9-11, 2012).

For the past two years, seven mechanical engineering students from the Sherbrooke University have been working on a project in collaboration of the Mercier Racing team. The new, closed cockpit is ready and is being tried out by the team.

Groupe ABS GP-101 is back! Mercier racing is making a comeback in hydroplane racing. The boat,s pilote is none other than Ghislain Marcoux, 2011’s pilot of the year in the hydro 350 category.

Uni-Select Auto Plus NHRA Nationals, Reading, PA

September 29 to October 3, 2011

It was a good weekend for Mercier Racing in Reading, PA. After three qualifying rounds, the pilot, Al Moeser, and the team qualified in the sixth position with a time of 5.362 seconds and a speed of 270.16 mph. Unfortunately, the team does not make it past the first qualifying round.

August 22^nd, 2011

Rising Sun, MD (August 19-21)

Mercier Racing went in the elimination rounds in the top spot after qualifying with a time of 5,337 seconds. It would only get better as they won the 1st elimination round with a time of 5.325 seconds at a speed of 270.10 mph. Unfortunately, the sun did not shine on Sunday and the 2nd and 3rd elimination rounds were postponed due to the rain. The 2nd and 3rd elimination rounds will be held at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Old Bridge, NJ from September 9 to the 11th.

July 4TH, 2011

It was a great weekend (July 1-3) for the team in Lebanon, NY. The team take the 4^th rank after the qualifying rounds. Dan wins the first qualifying round against Tom Pickett in a time of 5.458 seconds. The team remains successful in the second qualifying round when they meet Jackie Fricke and win the race with a time of 5.673 seconds. They move on to the finals against Dan Page who ends up winning the race with a close finish. Congratulations to the whole team for the great performance during this Division 1 event.

June 14th, 2011

From June 2^nd to June 5^th, Mercier Racing took part in the SuperNational at Englishtown, NJ. The weekend started off with greats performances from the team. Dan and the team qualified 3^rd, 3^rd, and 6^th in the three qualifying rounds. In the first elimination round the dragster had too much power which resulted in a tire smoke, and therefore prevented the team to move on to the next round. The best time of the weekend: 5.360 seconds. The team’s next outing will be at Napierville on June 25th and 26^th.

May 30th, 2011

Great start for Dan Mercier on the NHRA circuit. After two successful qualification rounds in Reading, PA., Dan to moved on to the final where he met Duane Shields. Although it was a great performance, the team finished .007 seconds shy from the win. Congratulations to the team for the great weekend and next week (June 3rd to the 5th) the action will be taking place in Englishtown, NJ.

april 26

The month of May will be a busy one for Mercier Racing. The team will be at Napierville on May 1st as well as on the 14 and 15th of May. Come and meet them, they will be available to you to answer all your questions. The following weekend, from May 20th to the 22nd, the team will travel south to Atlanta, where co-pilot Al Moeser will attempt win his 3rd Division 2 race. A victory would assure him of a spot in the JEGS!

No time off for the team which will round up the month of May (27-29th) in Reading, PA where Dan will take part in his first Division 1 race of the season. Don’t forget to go to our statistics section for the results.

february 21

Two for two to kick off the 2011 season! Al Moeser, the substitute driver for Mercier Racing, inaugurated the 2011 season with a victory in Bradenton, Fl. The following week, he collected another “Willy” winning the final round in Gainesville, Fl. Thanks to these back-to-back victories, Al Moeser and Mercier Racing start the season on top of the National and the Division 2 standings. A team of students from the University of Sherbrooke will bring modifications to the aerodynamics’ of the car as well as to the engine air flow for the 2011 season.

Important modifications will be done to the motor for the upcoming season: We will use the California based Brad Anderson Enterprises’ BAE-8 engine heads with new injectors.

Don’t miss the evening event “Adrénaline ABS- CÔTÉ” held on September 3rd, 2011 at the Napierville’s Drag way speed track. Please note that in case of rain, the evening will be postponed to September 4th.

The Côté team will participate in 15 events across Quebec and the United States for the 2011 season (see schedule). In addition, it will take part in outings at Sanair, Napierville and/or Pont-Rouge with the promod: Willys 41.
